Created storyboard has helped me to organise the production process more efficiently. I've tried to follow my storyboard as much as I could. I had made a lot of shots that are shown in my storyboard and I has made some screenshots from my video to show what I've actually done and how my storyboard has helped me to follow my initial idea.
Here we can see that during all the filming process we've tried to follow our storyboard and we've managed to do it quite successfully. You can see the comparison of the initial storyboard with the real scenes in the film.
The first four screenshots: These are the shots of Nelly waking up and getting ready for town. The comparison of storyboard and shots from the video makes it clear to see that we followed our storyboard perfectly. In my opinion this is a good introduction of the main character of our story to the viewers. Also we can see that Nelly is sleeping with a big nice minion so they will associate the song with the cartoon 'Despicable me', the soundtrack of which is the song 'Happy' by Pharrell Williams. This can attract the young viewers and the fans of this cartoon.
The next two screenshots: Nelly is coming down from the stairs and then she is coming out from the main school building, so we can see that everything went with our initial plan. This will help us to connect the following scenes where Nelly will be in town in logic sequence.
The next three screenshots: Nelly and her friends are dancing on High Street Canterbury. The storyboard was followed during the filming process. Dancing on the street and enjoying the life is the main idea of our music video so these scenes are very important and were carefully planned. To our fortune everything went right and the plan was followed in the shooting process. Actors were acting as good as professionals as they didn't pay attention on other people and weren't shy to dance in the city centre.
The last one: Girls are dancing in the park as we planned. This scene was important as well. Girls had to show happiness in the park in front of other people. Production process would be destroyed if the girls were shy and weren't able to dance in public. However, we were choosing our actors carefully and explained them everything that is required from them before starting the filming. The actors understood their roles and tried as hard as they can to contribute the filming. I order to do this, they had to forget about their shyness.
To conclude, I would like to say that storyboard was really helpful when we faced the shooting process. It told us what we have to film and which shots are needed to achieve the best result.
